I was incredibly lucky to win a giveaway held by the lovely, and very generous Rebecca of One Wee Bird
The prize advertised was 7 FQs of Katie Jump Rope, but the naughty lady snuck in 10 and all these strips! What a wonderful prize, thank you so much Rebecca.

Giveaway wins
I've been hit with the lucky stick again! In the recent Moda Love bloghop, I won the prize from one of my favourite designers, Bonnie from Bonnie and Camille! I won 2 charm packs of Miss Kate, 4 patterns and a pack of M&Ms! I can tell you that American packs of M&Ms contain more M&Ms than British packs... Thanks so much Bonnie, I'm most stoked about the hand written note that has pride of place on my wall!
I also won a giveaway from CrossStitcher magazine (the UK one), which is a really modern cross stitch magazine. I got this lovely Dimensions kit that I'm a bit afraid of as I've heard Dimensions kits often don't have enough materials to complete them, and that always gets me!
Yay for generous bloggers and companies and yay for my luck!

giveaway wins
I've been on a winning streak!
I've won two quilt patterns recently.
In the SMS giveaway I won this quilt pattern

from Pieced With Love. Isn't it gorgeous?
I then found out I'd won this quilt pattern:

It was from Marcia's crafty Sewing. She had said she would have two winners, but only remembered recently and I was the lucky second winner! This is the first time I've won anything in the SMS Giveaways!
I then discovered I'd won 500 Quilt Blocks from live.create as part of the Craft Book Sew Along.

Seriously ladies, you have to join in this challenge each month!
Then to top it all off, I was a winner in The Village Haberdashery's CAB survey! I won a £10 voucher. Jealous Kerry?
Thank you to all the lovely peeps who run giveaways, long may my luck continue!

squishy mail
I was a lucky, lucky girl last month! I had several parcels.
There was this parcel from the wonderful and lovely Nancy. She sent me two FQs of Fox Field (the bottom one is actually green!) and some Bunny Hill (also green!) - a half yard! Thanks Nancy, you are so generous.
I've had my eye on Littlest for ages, so when it arrived at The Village Haberdashery, I knew it was mine! Some other FQs and 2m of Kona Steel might have also fallen into my basket...

I then discovered I'd won a giveaway at The Sewing Directory when these lovely fabrics dropped through my letterbox! I'd missed the announcement so had no idea what they were! Thanks Fiona!
And finally, my Village Stash Society bundle for May, pink. Those FQ drawers are getting a bit full...

Happy mail
I've had some fab mail recently! Bloggers are such generous people.
First I got a parcel from the lovely Nancy. I'd expressed an interest in Press n' Seal which North American crafters have been using. Nancy sent me some, but rather than just send the plastic, she put sheets of it on sheets of felt! Look at those penguins! Thanks Nancy, I'll enjoy using this.
Then I won a giveaway hosted by CeLynn from Celynn's Sunflower Patch.
The prize was the gorgeous Indigo Junction bag pattern, but she also sent this FQ of bunny fabric! Yay, another one for my bunny quilt! Thanks CeLynn!

A frog in my kitchen...
Well there was a frog in my kitchen. Gave me the fright of my life. I actually screamed. I was home alone as Mr CA was on site. I'd been out to feed the bunnies, came back in, cooked some pasta, ate it, watched Saving Hope for a bit... went back in the kitchen and saw him!
See him*? He's in the corner by the dirty unpainted door, next to the massive bag of hay to the right of the tea-towels serving as a doormat since the kitchen fitter decided I didn't want my doormat any more and threw it away. So I screamed, grabbed my phone for a picture and tried to get him out. He didn't want to go. I poked him with a long piece of extrusion left over from the kitchen fit (no idea what it's for, but it works well as a frog-poking tool). He jumped and I screamed again. I really am such a wuss. Took me about 10 minutes to get him out.
Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that's a sneak peek of the new kitchen... want another?
It'll be a few more weeks before I show you in full - clearly we've not painted, we need to wait for some pipes to be boxed in and another cupboard added first. And I really must clean the window.
On to crafty stuff, though nothing made by me. I treated myself.
This cute little bunny brooch is by www.emmiemckee.com, I love the brooch and her customer service is ace. Go and buy something from her Etsy shop.
I've also had another giveaway win! Jennifer at Knotted Thread was giving away a copy of the quilt pattern Hemispheres by Megan of City Stitches, The pattern is available for purchase as a PDF on Aria Lane. It hasn't arrived yet but I'm looking forward to it. I know I'm not much of a quilter, but I've been quilting all day today!
*I have no idea if it really was male. I didn't turn it over to look at its "bits". I also have no idea what either a male or female frog's bits look like.

christmas card book and giveaway wins
Earlier in the year, the lovely Jillayne from A Fine Seam made a very generous offer to her readers. In exchange for 6 Christmas cards, she would make us a Christmas art journal. How could I pass up being the recipient of a handmade gift from someone so talented?
I made my cards from strips of fabric sewn with the world's most irritating metallic thread. They took me hours due to that damn silver machine thread! I added some sparkly stickers and holographic card.
Last week I collected the parcel from my PO Box (my parents' house). I was so excited I had to open it there and then, so no photos of how beautifully it was wrapped, but it was wrapped in an old pattern with raffia and a hand-stamped tag. Want to see how beautiful it is?
The outside is fabric wrapped and closed with a lovely satin ribbon bow.
The spine features button clusters, look at those buttons!
Inside the pages are cards from the other participants. This one is all stitched and so was loose in the book, it was made by Susan from Suze Tats.
The leaves (not sure if that's the correct term) are made up of a mixture of patterned and textured pages and all different sizes to allow me to add onto the book sideways so as not to add bulk.
This card is from Karen of Todolwen (sorry, no blog address, if anyone happens to know it, I'll add a link.
This gorgeous French card was made by Freda of Sew What's New.
This beauty is from Diane Kelsey of Diane Hobbit (sorry, again no link).
And last but not least is a card from Marj Talbot who does not have a blog.
Ladies who sent in the cards, thank you for your participation. Jillayne, thank you for a wonderful gift which will be treasured.
Last week was a lucky week (besides the whole house falling down thing), I also won a giveaway held by Lucy at Charm About You. I've won a dress pattern! I'll show you when it arrives. Thanks Lucy.
I then found out I'd won another giveaway, this time at Clover and Violet, it's a Subscription to Hop, Skip & Jump Block of the Month from Sew Lux Fabric & Gifts. Thanks ladies!
Now if I could just get some house-shaped luck...

giveaway win
Yes, that's right, I won another giveaway! Whilst my luck in my personal life continues to get worse and worse (house still falling down, builders taking their sweet time getting us quotes, let alone starting the work, insurance company refusing to pay up, insurance company refusing to renew our insurance for all the reasons it's denying when refusing to pay the claim (bunch of criminals - oh, might as well name and shame - it's American Express Insurance Services, avoid at all costs), car still trashed, health still bad), my luck at winning giveaways, and apparently my talent at writing entire-paragraph-sentences, continues!
Bookends! Genius! Such a lovely book, Alison wrote a proper review, if you want to read it, it's here.
Thanks Alison, I'm thrilled! And yes, I have added it to the craft book list. The number is getting quite scary!
I won this lovely book over at Alison's blog. It's one of those books I'll be flicking through again and again as it's gorgeous. There are several projects I want to attempt (wish that WIP list would just disappear along with my to-do list!).
This lovely mirror is one. I'd never thought of doing an embroidered mirror. And this cushion is just so cute.

giveaway win
Yep, I won another giveaway! This one was over at Ange's blog, one of the few blogger-friends I've met in real life. Ange does a monthly Craft Book Challenge, so hop over and check it out.
This is what I won!
Pretty suitable for me as I love to make bags and I adore Lisa Lam's first book - The Bag Making Bible.
That's all for today.

giveaway win
Not one, not two, but three!
First I won a giveaway over at live. create. I won a gorgeous quilt pattern by Casey York Designs.
Then I won the monthly link-up giveaway at Quiet Play.
And then I was one of The Village Haberdashery's CAB winners for the month.
Is my luck turning again? I hope so, I seriously need some cheering up right now.

another giveaway win or two...
Oh yes, I've been a lucky lady!
First of all I won a giveaway held by Sara at Crafts of Texture before Christmas. The email was a bit out of the blue, but I was delighted - this is more of a book to read than to make things from and I look forward to settling down for a good read. Thanks Sara.
Then there came the mystery bundle. Mum handed over my parcels last week and one of them was this bundle of Summersville. I knew I hadn't ordered it (though I'd love to as I love this fabric). It had a Pin It and Stitch card in it and a bit of internet sleuthing lead me to the original giveaway post! I'd completely forgotten I'd even entered and hadn't been contacted to say I'd won. I'm not complaining! Thanks Pin It and Stitch.
And finally, this is one of the "giveaway wins" that secretly involves me paying for my "win". I want to join in the Skill Builder BOM at Pile of Fabric, by that I mean I do intend to join in (though I'm late!) but haven't yet had time.
I was thoroughly inspired by all the loveliness over at Made By Chrissie D so I ordered some Kona Solids from The Village Haberdashery who had by far the best price I could find (£1.75 for a FQ, US readers, try not to have a heart attack, that's our reality!). The arrived quickly and had been labelled up with the name of the shade, nice touch!

Mum also handed over another parcel. This contained these gorgeous, cute little Candy packs of Marmalade from my lovely friend Nancy, look how she's mounted them on that beautiful patterned card! I don't think it's any secret that I love Bonnie and Camille's fabrics. Thanks Nancy, you're a gem. Sorry about putting in the photo upside down though! I only just noticed...

Having ordered the FQS in 9 shades of blue, the half metre of orange and the half metre of sand, I discovered I'd bought the fabric requirements for a different BOM! I'm going to try to make this work though, I'm planning on adding in scraps of blue patterned fabrics, and orange if I have any left. It's a year long BOM and it's quilt as you go, so I plan on using FQs of patterned blue for backing and I'll top up my stash throughout the year. Yes, I might already have made a start on that...
Fingers crossed that I've found time to sew and can show you results of the first blocks soon!

giveaway win
Yes that's right, I won another giveaway. I say "another" as I went through a very lucky period of winning loads, but this is the first in a while! Very much appreciated too. I hopped along with the In Your Words blog hop, I love a good blog hop, great way of finding inspiration and finding new-to-me blogs to read.
I won the prize from Amy's Crafty Shenanigans and look what the generous lady sent me!
How fab is that London fabric? It goes so nicely with the red fabric too and I just love red. Now I have to decide what it's going to be.
I did a little tiny bit of online shopping too. Alyce from Blossom Heart Quilts is running a monthly stash club where you can buy 6 fat 1/8th or 6 FQs of Japanese fabric on a certain theme. January's theme was text fabric and I really wanted some text fabric so I signed up. It's all done on a month by month basis, if you're interested, you're too late for February, but you can buy March's pack- go to her Etsy shop.
This is what I received. The two on the top right are written in French which is perfect for me, and I love the newsprint one. Unfortunately, I got stung with a customs charge of £12 which brought the total price for EACH fat quarter to £5.50, definitely not a bargain! I'm afraid I won't be joining in again which I'm a bit sad about as I'd planned this to be a monthly treat.

Jigging that wig
Morning ladies! I meant to write this post yesterday but the lack of computer at home is making things hard, I'm so behind in my blog reading it's unreal! I know I could just "mark all as read" but I don't want to! I'm unlikely to get any work done today, I'm bursting with excitement. I picked up my "new" car yesterday - he's gorgeous! I've decided to call him Norton. I think I've already told you this, but he's a blue Mini One with a checkerboard roof and checkerboard stripes! I'll take a photo when it stops raining and if the sun comes out at all today. it's 9:30am and dark as night! Tomorrow me and my mum are going to Harrogate to the Knitting and Stitching show. We're staying overnight so have two days at the fair.
Which brings me to my topic of today, I realised I didn't tell you about the Bead Fair I went to a couple of weeks ago. It was hosted by The Bead Shop Nottingham in a local hotel. It was quite small but there were plenty enough shops there. There was also a free mini workshop. We signed up for the Wig Jig workshop, thinking it might follow on from the class we took a few months ago. It turned out to be the same, just condensed. So I freestyled instead!
Here are the designs I made up. They don't look terribly neat, they'll look better once they're attached and made into jewellery. Promise!
Want to see my haul? I didn't actually spend very much, I got quite few bargains!
Not bad eh? I got bails for putting polymer clay cabouchons or Fantasty paint in, some filigree pieces, some lentil beads and bangle blanks.
Lots of chain, delica beads and some fab painted wooden buttons.
Beading kits.
Spacers, connectors, bead caps, funky shaped beads, lucite leaves and ribbon clasps.
Speaking of haul, my winnings from the Zakka Style Sew Along turned up from Robert Kaufmann...
Yum yum! Would you believe I've forgotten its name??? I'll leave you with the birthday card I made for my mum. I'm off to stand by the window and admire my car!

During the recent Moda blog hop I won a kit to make this lovely sheep mini from Lisa Bongean. There's a free PDF of the pattern if you want to make one yourself.

So that's 6 giveaway wins!! Add to that the Bag pattern and fabric I won last week... Thanks Samantha and Dee! I'm definitely on a winning streak. Hmmmm, wonder if I should put some money on the Lottery this week...
I also wanted to tell you about a fab blog hop that's coming up soon. I'm a part of the UR Priceless blog hop hosted by my lovely friend Katherine of Sew Me Something Good. Starting November 5th, more details nearer the time.
