Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Day

    Giveaway is now closed

Hello and welcome!  If you are visiting from Sew, Mama, Sew, then I'm very happy to have you and I wont keep you long.

I entered all the giveaways on the last giveaway day but didn't win anything.  I have, however, won loads of stuff since then so I felt it was my turn to give something away.

So, down to the bit we're all really interested in - what am I giving away?  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you...

Tilda!  I know it's hard to get in some countries so I hope you like it.  Now, I must apologise for the small amount here.  There are 4 fat eighths, 3 of them in the latest design, just released.  I would have loved to give away a fat quarter bundle, but the price of fabric in the UK is horrifying.  We pay about $16 for a metre of Moda and an incredible $29 (£18) for a metre of Tilda.  Not cheap!  However, these fat eights are metric so you will get more than you get in a fat eighth from the States or Canada.  Australians, you're with us on the metric I think?

Anyway, stop waffling.  So, what do you have to do?  Not much.  First of all, please DO NOT follow me.  I don't get all this "follow me to win" business.  I want people to follow me because they enjoy reading my blog and seeing what I've messed up recently.  I will notify the winner by email, so there is no need to follow.  Having said that, I'd love it if you bookmarked me and came back next week, or next month, when the giveaway day and catching up on your blogs etc is all done.  Then if you want to follow, I'd love to have you.

So, in order to win the fabric, please leave me a comment below and answer the following questions:

1. Which crafts have you tried?
2. Which crafts do you regularly do?
3. Which crafts would you like to try?

Answer the three questions in ONE COMMENT.

Please make sure that if your blog isn't linked to your email (never recieved an email reply to a comment you've left on someone's blog?  You're not linked) you leave your email address in your comment.  If you don't want the spambots to get you write it like this:
myemailaddress (at) wherever (dot) whatever

I will post internationally.

1 comment per person please.

Entries close on 10am on May 26th (UK time.  No idea what time that is elsewhere, but it gives you a while!).  I'll chose a winner on the 27th.  Or maybe even the 26th if I get over-excited which is likely.

I'll use that random number chooser thingy to choose a winner if I can figure out how.

Go ladies, go!

And if you have no idea what this Sew, Mama, Sew Giveaway Business is, then pop over to the blog to see hundreds of other giveaways.

I'm so glad I found your blog through this massive giveaway day. You have me hooked now with "I want people to follow me because they enjoy...seeing what I've messed up recently." :)

To answer the questions...
1. It would be quicker to answer what I haven't tried. Sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, spinning, candlemaking, scrapbooking, um...my mind is going blank.

2. Knitting. Sewing. Crocheting. Spinning. In that order. :)

3. Rug hooking. I keep meaning to get a kit, but then I think I want to design my own, and the wool is so expensive unless you buy it whole and cut your own strips and...well, I haven't gotten around to trying it yet.

Thanks for the chance! my e-mail is meg AT bflomama DOT com xo

It's so funny, 'hard to get' is the exact reason I'm clicking all the international shippers! I'm in Canada and it's frustrating to have to pay a ton for things once you find them, if you ever can find them.

I've fallen into sewing for the past year and a bit. I'd like to try something to do with mosaics. Part of me is afraid to take on another craft though!

Thanks for giving away something that's hard to get :)

MaryBeth said...

It would be easier to say what crafts I haven't tried, ha ha. I've done macrame, hook rug, candle making, stained glass, tole painting, etc. I love knitting and crochet. My absolute favorite is quilting and sewing in general. One of these days I'd like to try my hand at weaving - my husband almost bought me a loom at auction, but I don't know where I'd put anything that big, LOL.

I have been a garment sewer - don't do that anymore. I am a devoted quilter now! Sleep, eat, dream quilting... I dabble in knitting and even a wee bit of cross-stitch occasionally. I would love to do more knitting - but seriously, I don't want to try another crafty hobby because quilting is already costing me a bundle!

Oh, and just a thought, but have you ever ordered fabric from Thousands of Bolts? www.thousandsofbolts.com
It's all brand-name (Moda, Benartex, RJR) fabric, just not this year's lines, at seriously bargain prices!

Great giveaway - I bought my first ever Tilda fabric this month when I stumbled upon it and fell in love. I sew/quilt and crochet. I have tried doing stuff with beads but that was too fiddly. I made cards once. That fell by the wayside even faster than the beading. I don't really have a crafty wishlist of things to try. Still trying to get my head around quilting and blogging!

I've tried knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, spinning, weaving, and cross-stitching. I'm sure I'm leaving a few out there. I still do most of them, with the exception of cross-stitch (and just a little bit of quilting). Which one I'm obsessed with at the moment depends on the season and my mood. I am not sure how many I have left to try, but I would like to improve my crocheting (which is kind of a disaster).

I am the type of crafter that picks something up "when the spirit moves me," so I'd say that I continue to use all the skills that I've developed. Right now I have quilting, embroidery, crochet, knit and paper projects in progress as well as some freelance alteration work (emphasis on the FREE).

I would really like to try my hand at jewelry making. I mean, I HAVE made jewelry before, but it always looks hokey. I want to make my own expensive looking jewelry! LOL!

Hi, my name is Jamie. I haven't tried too many adult crafts because I have 3 little girls ages 5 and under, but I've done plenty of kids' crafts with them. I do indulge in sewing, quilting, and bow making regularly. And I am going to take a jewelry making class at a local bead store next month. My daughter Beatrix has gotten the jewelry making bug and although we've made a few pair of earrings and some particularly heinous necklaces I have actually worn out in public to dinner on "date night," I thought it might be good to learn how to make jewelry with actual skill. My answers are:
1. I've tried cross-stitch, tapestry, cardmaking, scrapbooking and some very very basic sewing.
2. At the moment I regularly make cards and stare at the piles of fabric that I have bought to make stuff with.
3. I'd love to get off my butt and actually sew a quilt. Or a table runner. Or even the napkins I keep talking about but never actually making! :)
Have bookmarked your blog and will be back when I have time to think!

Haha, I love your post! Totally with you on the 'follow to win' thing, too. (Although I suspect I may end up following your blog, as I'm loving your writing style! :-)

Right, the questions....
1 - I sew. I've tried to learn to knit, but it takes to long so I keep giving up. I've dabbled in cross stitch, embroidery and screen printing as well.
2 - I sew, sew, then sew some more!
3 - One of these days, I fully intend to learn to crochet so I can make cute little amigarumi.

I've tried cross-stitch, sewing, knitting, and scrapbooking.

The only thing I do regularly now is knitting.

I'd love to pick up some more sewing skills and try my hand at quilting. ^_^
