Save the Stitches update

It's time for another update of my pgrogress on Elizabeth Almond of Blackwork Journey's Save The Stitches blackwork sampler.  If you're new to my blog, you can see links to my previous posts at the bottom.

Instead of moving my Qsnap around after each block, I decided to hoop up an area and stitch as much as would fit in that area, then add the metallics before moving on.  Below you see half of row 8, all of block 9, half of block 10 and half of row 12.

I like this method.  I haven't added the beads.  As I've had problems with them being caught in the frame, I'm going to wait until I've finished the whole thing before adding the beads - another couple of years then!

Here's how it's looking so far:

  3. Wendy, this is more lovely every time I see it! I followed the link and found the patterns. Are there 17 blocks in all, or are more added as you go? I am just curious how large it will be (though, I think you may have answered that question in a previous post or response to a comment.) Your work is beautiful!

  4. Beautiful! Unfortunately, I am still on block 2, so way behind you. I did get to stitch a little bit at guild yesterday, but I have to wait til I get my living room back so I have good lighting. I really miss stitching. I am doing mine on my Needle Needs bars. The lap stand worked really well on the table at guild. I hope to start using my floor stand once I get back in my living room.

  7. This is looking lovely Wendy. I think you've made the right decision to leave the beads until all the stitching is done. It's going to beautiful when it's all done.
