I understand what you're saying...Don't cry. I understand what you're saying, but the work you have done on this is beautiful. One thing I noticed is that the quiet quality of the leaves and stems is a nice contrast for your glowing flowers and I kind of like it. My first inclination would be to add highlights with floss. Even something as subtle as outlining the leaves and stems with white or a very light color on one side and black or another very dark color, would make it less "flat." sophiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13408822963659450038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4902503112918417582.post-42749466017252199332014-02-16T13:42:21.383+00:002014-02-16T13:42:21.383+00:00I think it looks really great, If you're reall...I think it looks really great, If you're really not happy, I'd go for the highlighting too.Kerryp77https://www.blogger.com/profile/12137898070664401735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4902503112918417582.post-46330246813359203352014-02-16T13:39:37.371+00:002014-02-16T13:39:37.371+00:00can't offer any advice as I have no idea about...can't offer any advice as I have no idea about embroidery but it looks good to the untrained eye (I know that doesn't help!)moirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17590289694546014050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4902503112918417582.post-91174577365277958712014-02-16T01:55:51.844+00:002014-02-16T01:55:51.844+00:00I'm on the highlight side as well... i would d...I'm on the highlight side as well... i would do it by thinking of the plant as the sun hits it - the top and "outside" areas would get the sun first so I'd start there. You could also "tweed" a dark yarn with a light yarn (one strand each, blended and threaded on one needle) and randomly add to the leaf. If you don't over stitch the leaf, it will have a bit more texture. Hope this helps. It really does look quite lovely!
