Woo hoo! The postman's been again!

Yes, it is a postMAN.  I know as I answered the door to him this morning.  I wasn't expecting a parcel and I didn't get one (things are notorious for going missing when delivered to our house so I use my husband's work as my parcel depot).  Instead I got my passport.  I'm still in the process of changing my name after getting married and had sent off photocopies of my documents to one company.  Except I'd actually sent my passport by accident and I didn't even realise!!

Anyway, delivered to Mr Crafter's Apprentice's work this week were some fab goodies.

This Amy Butler bag pattern and some beautiful fabric in my favourite colour came from the lovely Kite & String after I won her giveaway.  There's not enough of this fabric to make the bag but I think I will make a bag with it, and make the bag in the pattern from other fabric as I love it.

The wonderful Tezzcan sent me giveaway winnings too.  This charm pack of Hideaway for Moda - I'd never seen this range, but I really like it, it has cute little deers and cuckoo clocks.  She also sent me two sets of stitch markers - how beautiful are these?  Forget marking my crochet or knitting, I would wear them as jewellery!

Thank you both very much.

This Petit Ecole layercake wasn't a giveaway win, but if you ask Mr C's A, he would think it is... wonder where he got that idea ;0)

I owned up to this little lot.  I bought a yard of Fig Tree Whimsy fabric and this Michael Miller pink spotty fabric to make a bag for my mum, but they just don' go so I bought another yard of a different Whimsy fabric, and threw some Amy Butler yardage into the on-line basket too.  I'm waiting for the other yard to arrive.  At the bottom of the picture is a scrap of chalkboard fabric!  I have no idea what I'm going to do with it yet!  I forgot to put the pom pom trim in the picture....

Yay, new feet!  This is a 1/4 inch piecing foot which I've heard rave reviews about and which I'm hoping will really help me improve my 1/4 inch seams.  I put it on the machine today, I was very excited, but he pattern I was using called for 1/2 inch seams!  (I'll show you what I made later in the week).  The big mechanical job at the back is a walking foot.  I've yet to try it and I'm a bit scared of it, but I will try it soon.

The walking foot came with 2 of these gizmos.  I also got one with my sewing machine.  Can anyone shed any light and tell me what the hell it is and what it does?!??

You are too funny! I was laughing out loud when I read your comment! It is a seam guide to help when quilting straight lines. Let's say you want to quilt parallel lines 1.5" apart. You mark and quilt your center line, attach the guide (usually attaches to the back section of the walking foot) measure it 1.5" from the walking foot center, then keep your previously quilted line under the seam guide. Voila, parallel line now at 1.5" without having to measure and make each line. Pics?? I can e-mail some if that would help

The walking foot and the quilting guide are an amazing pair. I was laughing when I read of your attempts to hide the true origins of your ever-increasing stash! Who among us has not done similar things in order to get the perfect pairings?
Cheers!

Oh what lovely goodies you got, good for you!!! What kind of machine do you have? Those feet look just like mine. I have a Viking Designer 1. The gizmo attaches in the back of the walking foot - it's so you can quilt straight lines without marking. I have no clue where mine is or I'd send you a pic. You will really love the walking foot - I use mine for piecing, even!

Love the new wins - and the ones that just found their way to your house on their own are great too. LOL
First comment covered the seam guide perfectly - I just got a walking foot and I am loving it - what a difference it makes - amazing!

I love getting fun mail...and you got some SUPER fun mail! All those fabrics are gorgeous! I have no idea what that last thing is, but I can barely sew a straight stitch so that isn't surprising to me:)

I didn't even know they had a 1/4" foot. I've got to go get one! Love your blog and all the things you've done! I came from The Girl Creative and now a new follower. Please stop by sometime.
