another retired question...

OK, so I've got the blog reading sorted out (thanks ladies!), now I have a question.  I can see how many people follow my blog, but if Google Reader is going, the Follow button will become void - so how will I know how many people follow my blog?  I'm not hung up on the numbers, it's not that important to me, but I am curious...  I like to know even if it isn't important.  Any ideas anyone?

Not a clue. I have a couple new followers and I wanted to reciprocate but it only brought me to their Google+ page and no blog. I'm afraid to even tinker with my design/format!

It's all over my head, sorry :)
There used to be a 'follow' button at the top on blogger blogs, but that's gone now, so I don't know how to follow someone so I appear as a follower.
I follow you in my list of blogs I follow, on my own blogger blog, but I don't think I show up in your Followers (or members whatever they call it these days!)
Does that make any sense?! :)

I have no idea what's going on with google, I can't work out how to use google+, I can't work out what I'll do with my blogs. I tried bloglovin' and it was just so slow and rubbish and kept skipping posts! EEEk, I just don't know!

I don't think there's going to be a way to track your follower number. But really, that number isn't accurate anyway because it only takes into account people who follow with GFC. However, you can set up Google Analytics to see what your actual page views/visitors are. This is really a better representation of who is reading your blog. Though, I no longer really trust Google in general...

I've only discovered this morning that Google reader is being retired :(. I've been researching feeders and it seems Feedly would be easiest with satellite internet. If blogging starts to cost though I'll have to give it up.
I'll keep checking on my more adventurous/knowledgable blogging friends (your name is on this list!) to see how they manage as I need the input.

I think(?) that GFC is independent of Google Reader and haven't heard that it will be going. Hope not anyway. Not sure how it will work with another reader, though.

I just realised that if I click 'Join this site' when I'm signed in, it's actually very simple and similar to the old 'follow' button :)

I don't know the answer to this question but have wondered the same thing.
