vroom vroom

Hopping around the GYB hop, I'm surprised at so many bloggers answering comments in their own comments section!  I get it when someone's asked a question and perhaps others would benefit from the answer, but "thanks for the comment"!  I don't get it.  So, quick question to you all - do you go back to every blog you've commented on a day or two later to see if they've replied?  Honestly, I'd be really interested to know if I'm just being a grumpball getting annoyed with this...

oh and a quick, public service announcement: you don't need an apostrophe in the word "photos" when you're just talking about more than one photo.

Enough with that.  I have been making a quilt.  Yep, a quilt!  Want to see how it's going?

It started off like this, which I confidently exclaimed on Instagram was a whole quilt.  It wasn't.  Well not big enough for me.  This pattern makes a 4 x 4 layout but some quick calculations revealed I'd need a 4 x 6 layout for this to be big enough for Jacob's "big boy bed".

The fabric is Scoot, possibly a Robert Kaufmann line?  Now I've written that, I'm not sure I've even got his name right, is it Robert?

The pattern calls for a charm pack and a jelly roll, but I'd bought a bundle of fat quarters before deciding on a pattern, so I'm using that.  I also bought some backing fabric which I haven't dared unfold and measure yet!  Ladies of the EMQG, you'll be seeing this quilt on Saturday when I'm hoping I'll be at the quilting stage!

p.s. I went over to my Pinterest board Quilts - Pieced to get the link for the pattern and now I want to make 20 quilts!

Your blocks are looking good!
I look forward to seeing the finished quilt!
I have to admit that I never go back to comments I've left - perhaps I should!

like the spotty fabric you are using in this quilt. No i do not go back and I do not comment on my blog when people comment. When I read them on blogger I reply if there is a reply box to them personally.Hope this makes sense

Lovely blocks!
I never go back to a blog I left a comment on, if I tried I probably wouldn't find it back again anyway!
As for spelling... your jelly "roll" play a great "role" ;-) , but then again, I would probably be the one to have added an apostrophe to "photos" until you pointed it out just now...

I get annoyed by that with comments too because I don't go back but I know several people who do it this way and sometimes I go back to check. I occasionally copy and paste my email reply into the comments if it will benefit the post.

No, I never go back and look at any possible answers on a comment I left. I think those people might not have their blogs set up so the comments are also appearing as an email and can easily be answered. Love the blocks you've made so far. Keep going ;)!

I don't tend to comment on my blog now. I prefer to do it by email. I've had some great email conversations that way. I have a couple of no reply bloggers who I have emails for so I'll reply that way. I don't tend to go back to blogs to check. I might look back when they do their next post but I don't always remember to do so.

The quilt is taking shape. Hope the sizing works out too.

Nope, I never go back to the comments I've made. It's entirely possible I've missed a bunch of replies, but I really don't have that kind of time! Your quilt looks so cute. It's always been a dream of mine to make a quilt, but I definitely need to buy a sewing machine first! :D

I never go back to the comments section to check . The only time I respond to comments in the comment section is when there is no way to reach the person.
Your quilt books look great!

It's coming out great!

After doing A-Z, I keep seeing posts and stuff saying that it's rude not to go back and acknowledge comments. I usually never used to but I am now. Only occasionally will I go back to see if someone has responded to something I've said on their blog, if I have time and remember. Apparently it's considered bad blog etiquette not to do so. so I'm trying to acknowledge each and every comment.

The one problem I have with that is that I'm now not getting an accurate idea of how many people are visiting my blog because the page view total goes up every time I go back to respond to someone's comment. I wish there was a way that blogger could recognize my IP address and not count it towards my page views.

I don't go back either.
Love your blocks, such cute fabric:)

Cute quilt! I don't go back and check where I've left comments. Ever.

I don't go back to check after I've left comments - who has time for that, and really, who even remembers what comments they made where - out of sight, out of mind for the most part! I don't see a point in replying to comments via the blog, either - it's not as if we get notified that there's a reply to us, and again - who has time for that? The only time (IIRC) that I replied to a comment right in my blog, was when the commenter was a no reply member with no blog, and had asked a question. I had no way to contact her other than to answer her in the blog comments.

BTW - you *do* need an apostrophe in photos if you're referring to something that belongs TO the photo - like ... the photo's mom ... or the photo's addiction to chocolate - etc. etc. ;) *awaits a smack from Wendy* :)

Great quilt blocks - how big are they? I can't believe Jacob is old enough for a big boy bed - holy smokes!

If someone is a no reply blogger then I will go back and reply in the comments, otherwise I don't. Also, I never go back to comments I have made.

Your blocks look great, love the fabric!

Great fabrics for your quilt. I dont know how we would ever remember which blogs comment page we need to go back to,because we all seem to read and comment on so many. Maybe they dont want to clog up their emails, but it is not hard to delete after reading anyway is it. It takes enough time to read new posts without checking older ones in case the blogger has answered.

i don't either

Looking so cute, Wendy. Your nephew is going to have a fun quilt to cuddle up with.

No, I don't revisit to read replies in comments - chalk it up to visiting too many blogs to make it possible.

Haha you grump!! Love it though... I always assumed the commenter(apologies if that's not a real word) would get a reply by email as well as the reply in the comment section, but it seems not. I would never go back to an original post to see if I'd had a response, I struggle to find enough time to make comments in the first place.
Your quilt blocks look great, that's a very cute fabric range.

That's come together quickly. It's going to look wonderful. And no, I don't usually go back to check comments. The only time I've answered on the blog itself, is if there was a question asked, and no other way to contact the person

fab fabrics and a lovely looking quilt to be there.
No I dont go back though have asked questions that have never been answered and guess they may have answered in their comments section, come to think of it.
One on GYB Idadded some info for her, out of interest I popped back to her comments, when reading her next post and yes, shed answered me there, strikes me as odd doing that, somehow less personal?
But unless I remember about a particular queery, I dont have time either to double back on previous posts.
Ive made some lovely, chatty cybery pals by answering personally beyond the blog itself.

The quilt blocks are looking great. Like everyone else I never go back to look for a reply to a comment, there just aren't enough hours in the day as it is!
