so close, so, so close

The hooked rug is SOOOO close to being finished.  So, so close...

Nope, closer than that, more like this...

See that?

And guess what?  I've run out of red wool.  They didn't give me enough in the kit.  I got an extra pack of the blue, but not enough red.  I emailed Coats who own Anchor.  The email bounced back...  I've found an online shop that sells Anchor rug wool, I bought all three reds they had in the hope that one of them matches.  Delivery will be 10 days!  What??  Get up to date shop, 10 days is a LIFETIME... well maybe not, but I'm running out of time to get this finished!

Not to forget Mr Mosaic...

Grouted!  Now to find my paint brush...

Rug looking good, so frustrating to get so near and run out of wool, 10 days does seem a rather long delivery time, I thought it was bad enough getting goodies sent out here! xcx

How infuriating! It's looking good though

Wow you've been busy trying different crafts. I love the mosaic.
The flag is a great idea too! Happy crafting.
Cheers, Anita.

Your rug is looking great Wendy, but what a nuisance being shortchanged on your wool - so near, yet so far! Never mind, your mosaic is looking very good so maybe you can concentrate on it for now and hopefully your new supplies will turn up sooner than predicted! xoJoy

There are few things quite so frustrating as running out of thread - and so close to the end too. Imagine me growling with frustration on your behalf..!

One of my biggest pet peeves is when a kit doesn't include enough supplies!!!! And you are sooooo close too!

I think I would have thrown my rug hook across the room. It wouldn't have accomplished anything, other than making me walk over to pick it up, but it might have made me feel good. That is just tooooo close to run out of red. I can't get over how the grouting changes the look of the mosaic tray. It's beautiful.

Oh no! How frustrating that would be to be so close and run out. But you are making such progress on your UFO list. Just as soon as we're in our apartment, I have a few UFOs that need finishing up too.

That mosaic is awesome!
I haven't made any latch hook items from kits lately, I've been just making my own. That really stinks that you were shorted so much! If none of the reds that you purchased online are close, you can always take one of the threads to a craft store and get a skein of yarn that matches that color, too. Then all you have to do is cut the pieces to the length needed. Just an idea!

Oh, how frustrating to run out when you're that close. Hope at least one of the reds match, and I'm so glad to see you working on the tray too

Very frustrating, being short of such a small amount, so near the end! Work on Mr. Mosaic and get him finished while you're waiting for the yarn - that would teach the yarn kitters a lesson! ;)
