Good afternoon ladies. I can't believe it's Sunday and I can't believe it's 5pm on Sunday either. Where did that weekend go? I'm pretty sure I missed it! I had a fab day yesterday on the first of the 4 jewellery courses me and my mum have booked. I'll blog about it in the week. But first I wanted to show you something I've finished.
Remember this?
I volunteered to pattern test a cross stitch pattern produced by Love Thy Thread. Bev gave me the choice of all the patterns in her shop and I chose this lovely Geisha. Yes, that's what it is. I know you can't tell from the photo above but I hope you can tell from the photos below!
The Geisha in the pattern was wearing an orange kimono, but I didn't have many orange threads so I decided to swap it for purple. I think the purple works really well.
I have yet to frame her, but I want to add her to my gallery so I had a look in my stash of embroidery hoops. I think this one is 10", the biggest I have - not sure if I'm going to have to find a bigger one.
And here's an arty photo! Not great with the arty photos, am I?
I'm not really looking forward to the working week ahead, I can see me doing 12-14 hours days, but I do have Thursday off for the second of the jewellery courses! I just have to keep my eye on that prize.
Don't forget to enter my Something Old, Something New competition. The deadline is 31st July and there is a prize!

The Geisha pattern looks like fun! Can't wait to hear about your jewellery course, I am green with envy :)
That's just beautiful and purple was a way better choice. Have you tried doing beaded cross stitch yet? Or beadpoint? It's very addicting. Now when I look for new kit designs, I lean towards ones that include beads.
Adorable and I think purple is the perfect colour for her. Nothing to do with the fact that purple is one of my favourite colours. I think cross stitching would be quite therapeutic... one day.
loving the purple making me think now i should change her so much better thanks for testing the chart for me!, and i love the arty photos!
Love this! Liz
