More hefalumps

I feel like I'm always making elephants, but in fact I've only actually made 2!  Well, now I've made 4.  These were started before the craft fair, but when I realised the table was chocka, I put them on hold.  On the 27th we had company and I'd finished sewing the presents I had left to do (for people I hadn't seen yet!) and I was flailing around looking for something to do with my hands as we chatted (I've found people don't much like it if I use my hands for picking my nose whilst chatting ;0) *), and found these sewn-but-not-stuffed hefalumps.

Why hefalumps?  No idea, probably the same reason we call ambulances andybeasts in our family.  Madness.  It's hereditory.  The pattern can be purchased here, it's by the talented Retro Mama.

This one is made using the Riley Blake Sugar and Spice fabric I won a while back.  I think it would do for a boy or a girl.  Or is it too girly?

This one is made using some Tanya Whelan fabric (possibly) and a dotty pink from my stash.  She's destined to live with my cousin's baby when she arrives in the next couple of weeks.  I'm not sure that I told you what happened with my cousin at the time.  Early in her pregnancy she was very ill and got admitted into hospital and put into a comma in intensive care.  She was there for 6 weeks.  She had test after test after test and finally they discovered it was a form of encephalytis.  It was a miracle that she came round, but we were warned her recovery would take years.  It took her about 2 months, and that being heavily pregnant!  You'd never know she'd been ill to look at her now, she's amazing and so excited about this, her first baby.

This isn't the first time I've used this pattern, I made Brian with the pattern too.  So why did I think I'd made so many elephants?  I mean, where did I think they were?  You'd notice if you had a lot of elephants living in your house...

* I don't really pick my nose in company.

The elephants are gorgeous, love your fabric choices!

Your poor cousin, glad to hear she made a swift recovery and is now awaiting the arrival of her bundle!

A medium-sized cumulus cloud weighs about the same as 80 elephants

These are just lovely Wendy, would be no hardship to have lots of them around the house :)

Those are just adorable!!!! There was a toy store in San Francisco called Heffalumps. I had to look it up but it comes from Winnie the Pooh.

They're hefalumps in my house too after Lumpy in winnie the pooh. Anyhoo, they're very cute and I love the fabrics you chose, the co-ordinate so well. Your post did make me giggle though!

These are so cute and you used such pretty fabrics. I have a freebie pattern very similar to this one that I'm planing on making before April for a friends baby.

I'm glad you save your nose-picking for private *ahem* ;)

Love the elephants (although I'm going to vote that they're both GIRL elephants) - you always have such pretty fabrics!!
