It was pointed out on Instagram that that's probably a fairly inappropriate thing to say... In my defense, I thought he was dead.
I posted progress shots on Instagram for May's block for the Sew Kitschy paper piecing bom. Only one intrepid Instagramer knew what it was. Can you tell?
Yes, that's right! (Oh dear, I seem to be hearing those voices again...), it's a food mixer.
A yellow food mixer with a black bum made from Sketch which was the wrong fabric... never mind.
It also features a burnt bit. I thought I could pretend it's dirt from the chocolate cake the mixer is mixing.
Damn you iron - see what it does? It's just random, the iron wasn't dirty but every so often it likes to deposit burnt bits on my fabric. Or the husband's shirts...

Yeah I have a habit of saying that too, and if I'm given a large sheet of card or plastic I see a wobbleboard God help me....
So cool! I love it! My mixer is this color...wish my bowl was yellow too. And just go with chocolate ~ it adds further whimsy to the piece.
Ah dear Wendy - I think you need a new iron for that one is not very kind to you! Great piece of work by the way - very clever! xoJoy
My iron does that too - and rarely in a spot where it can be easily hidden! Dumb irons :D It's never on hubby's shirts though - he only wears those once or twice a year - and I don't iron them. Iron clothing ... whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat???!?!?! Ironing is for sewing! ;)
Pretty mixer (mine is red) - cute black bum, HAHA. Design decision - remember? :)
Urgh, stupid iron! I love your mixer, though :D
I think it looks great! A little chocolate chips thrown in there only makes it better :)
That food mixer is so cute!

Great choice of yellow / blue fabrics, Wendy. They work SO well together!!!
not sure what the dead is about? Definately a new iron would not go amiss, I have 3 old ones that are not steam, not sure what I will do when they pack up as I have no luck with steam ones, they always seem to dribble for me. Your paper peieing hss worked very well, no I would not have known what it was prior to you constructing it
Wow, this is fantastic. Is there anything that one can't do with paper piecing? Nooo. Very clever.
I so clearly see a mixer here! It's super cute! A few little rusty chocolate chips never heart anything!
My iron dribbles rather than burning - irritating at the time, but not usually damaging the fabric. The food mixer looks alarmingly like one I used to have!
Chocolate cake dirt or not, this is lovely!
Love the mixer Wendy! Oh I so hate it when my iron does that, yes mine does that too. Curse you iron...
What a great block! I'm not sure I'd have the patience to do so many of these
This is an adorable block. I'd go with the chocolate story, it might even work for your husband's shirts. Of course, it might mean it's time for a new iron. I recently made the plunge and I couldn't get over the difference it made.
Your mixer looks great. I will be working on mine this week.
