Hopefully I'm going to link up to something new to me this week, Tula Tuesday over at Diary of a Madfabriholic. If I remember!
With my rainbow blocks for June done, I needed a new leader and ender project. I hate wasting all that thread when I don't have one on the go. Being slightly overambitious at times, I thought the Tula Pink City Sampler quilt would be a good leader and ender project!
I'm not a fan of Tula's fabrics (though I love her patterns), so I'm using fabrics from the scrap bin. I'm going to try to keep roughly to the colours she's used as I want an overall quilt like the one in her book. I don't want to spend hours pondering over fabric choices, so the plan is I make a block and move on. Later on, if I don't like it, I'll remake it. Above is block one.
This is block 2. Not liking the pink much already... but I'll wait and see. This could be a very long-term project, or, at some point, it will take over and I'll use something else as a leader and ender!

I like them! Great color combos and the patterns are lovely. :D
It's a good start, and as you say, it can either remain a useful subordinate project, or it will start talking to you and become a major project in its' own right!
I like these blocks, great way to use up scraps! Chrissie x
HAHA my favourite is the pink :D
Love the blocks, well worth hanging onto them all before making decisions on which to keep. Sometimes they fit into the whole, even if we don't like them on their own
good to see you are ding the Tula Challenge, I did it last year and really enjoyed it allthough I cursed at times!! Used scraps and have made one quilt completed with 24 blocks, the next is ready to quilt and using the last 49 for a bigger one, all sashed with black. Best of luck and will enjoy watching your journey7
I like them both but like the pink block better.
Love those blocks! I should use my sewing maching a bit more I think.
I love them both! Welcome to the City Sampler club! It is a great choice for leader/ender...
I've had this quilt on my list since I bought the book at Christmas. I'll enjoy your in progress though and avoid starting anything else new. Great begining.
The blocks are beautiful and I definitely prefer your fabric choices.
