You can't beat that, can you? Oh, that reminds me, have I ever introduced you to my sewing machine? I can't remember, so meet him anyway. Him? Oh yes, he's definitely male, most of the time he does as he's told but sometimes he throws a strop for no reason!
He's a Husqvarna Viking E116 and I love him (most of the time, he's been good to me today or I'd be calling him blind). His name? Sewing Machine. Inventive, eh? It's like my car, that's called My Car.
Anyway, my brother's girlfriend had asked me for a "Pedro-style owl" for the baby. I flicked through a load of pictures on Pinterest, but decided to make my owl pattern. A quick prototype later and Gustav was born!
He's just 15cm tall and has a long ribbon loop as she wants to hang him from my nephew's bouncer. He's made from the most luscious grey linen (the same as Pedro) which I've now run out of! Must get some more... and has a cotton belly and hand-embroidered eyes. What was that, you want to know where his wings are? Shhhh... it's rude to point out people's short comings...
It's always quicker to make 5 than one... or something like that! So I did. here's Gustav and his friends.
I love the belly fabric on this one, I had just a charm square and I've no idea what it was as I bought it in a mixed bundle. Sadly, after this one, the luscious grey linen ran out and I had to use the almost-as-nice-but-not-quite grey linen I had.
I'm rather proud of this fussy-cut belly! (I think it was an accident...)
And this is from one of my Moda layer cakes to which I never knew the name.
This little lady has a belly made from one of my last scraps of DS fabric all the way from a US Joann's.
What do you think? It's my first attempt at designing a soft toy and I think there are others in my brain, battling to get out... If you want one of these little owlets, they're for sale in my Folksy shop. But don't worry, this blog wont become merely an advert for my shop!!
Oh, I didn't tell you about painting the kitchen door! I didn't have to. I'm not sure what happened but Mr CA, the same Mr CA who's allergic to DIY and has to be badgered into putting up a picture, announced he was going to paint the kitchen door! I didn't argue...

Oh so cute you know I love the owlies!!! And I must know how you got MR.CA to paint it's like pulling teeth to get my hubby to paint just the very top of a room because I can't reach it even standing on a ladder!

I love these - they are so cute. They remind me a little bit of the bunnies you made before which I also loved. Aaah - i've jsut realised that was who Pedro was - sorry being slow! Anyway, they are brilliant!

Ohh they are really great little owls ... and they even have two "ears" (how do you call the feathery part around the face that looks like ears?) to merrily chew on for the little ones. And each of them has a unique belly - no worries to get them mixed up.

I'm finding I'm on a bit of an owl kick now too. These are adorable! That baby will really enjoy having these happy buddies hanging around I think. I think it's great you let it be known they are in your shop. If I didn't have time or the inclination to make my own but really wanted one (or a few!) I'd be very happy to have the link right there. hello, I saw you have a beautiful sewing machine Viking Emerald. I want to buy one but it seems very difficult to find out how many W the engine consumes. It must be written on the machine where it plugs in.

My question was about the power engine of the sewing machine. How many watts it consumes? Usually it's written on the machine where the power cable plugs in. And I think it's also written how much the light bulb consumes.
