A frog in my kitchen...

Well there was a frog in my kitchen.  Gave me the fright of my life.  I actually screamed.  I was home alone as Mr CA was on site.  I'd been out to feed the bunnies, came back in, cooked some pasta, ate it, watched Saving Hope for a bit... went back in the kitchen and saw him!

See him*?  He's in the corner by the dirty unpainted door, next to the massive bag of hay to the right of the tea-towels serving as a doormat since the kitchen fitter decided I didn't want my doormat any more and threw it away.  So I screamed, grabbed my phone for a picture and tried to get him out.  He didn't want to go.  I poked him with a long piece of extrusion left over from the kitchen fit (no idea what it's for, but it works well as a frog-poking tool).  He jumped and I screamed again.  I really am such a wuss.  Took me about 10 minutes to get him out.

Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that's a sneak peek of the new kitchen... want another?

It'll be a few more weeks before I show you in full - clearly we've not painted, we need to wait for some pipes to be boxed in and another cupboard added first.  And I really must clean the window.

On to crafty stuff, though nothing made by me.  I treated myself.

This cute little bunny brooch is by www.emmiemckee.com, I love the brooch and her customer service is ace.  Go and buy something from her Etsy shop.

I've also had another giveaway win!  Jennifer at Knotted Thread was giving away a copy of the quilt pattern Hemispheres by Megan of City StitchesThe pattern is available for purchase as a PDF on Aria Lane.  It hasn't arrived yet but I'm looking forward to it.  I know I'm not much of a quilter, but I've been quilting all day today!

*I have no idea if it really was male.  I didn't turn it over to look at its "bits".  I also have no idea what either a male or female frog's bits look like.

Your new kitchen is looking very nice; I'm sure you can't wait for it to be finished. Maybe you should have kissed that frog ;)!!!

I love the tiling you have chosen. A few years ago our cat went through a spate of bringing live frogs into the house and then losing interest. I got quite adept and placing a box in front of the frog and then poking it with a stick so it jumped into the box and could be taken outside. I thought I'd let you know my technique just in case it comes back.

OMG your kitchen is looking faaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous - I can't wait for the big reveal!

LOL @ your froggy tale - a frog wouldn't have worried me, but I'm getting tired of finding huge honking CENTIPEDES (I'm pretty certain these ones have about 300 legs - they're BIG!) in my house. I try to trap them so one of the guys can catch and release them outside - I don't want to kill them, but I don't want them inside. And they keep finding whatever room I happen to be in - little boogers! YUCK!

If I lived close by, I'd have happily taken care of that little guy. I dearly love frogs, toads, and lizards and have way too many photos of them. When one shows up here--which is not often, it's practically an occasion!

I once found a frog in my bedroom when I still lived with my parents, I left my room and wouldn't go back in until my Dad got home from work (6 hrs later...) and removed it (I did put some water in for him though!).

The tiles look amazing!

Hi-hi!
Oh, I feel your pain with the froggies, I have them around here too, but they're tiny, about the size of a thimble. Still, I don't like them hopping around my house. I have to tell you though, I burst out laughing at the words "frog-poking tool".

Can't wait to see your kitchen all done!

I'm with you on the frog front, I don't mind them outside where they belong but inside? Nooooo!

You big girl :P I like frogs but they are a bit dim and I don't like they're unpredictable boingy-ness. Love those tiles!

I do not like frogs! They need to stay outside where they belong... not in kitchens, not in toilets... !! Glad your kitchen is coming along, it's looking great! xxx

For a short time as a teenagerI lived in a cabin where the bathroom was a separate room outside the cabin. There were frequently frogs in the shower, they were little ones though, and I learned to check first before starting up the water and hoping in!
