Ironing board cover

I've just finished work until Tuesday!  I've got an exciting weekend ahead of me - I'm doing a stained glass workshop on Saturday and then tomorrow I'm going down to meet my new nephew!  I can barely wait...  Tomorrow?  Tomorrow I get to do exciting stuff like cleaning out the bunnies, ironing and putting a new snap on the bib.  Not so exciting.

Anyway, enough talk of my nephew as I'm sure you're sick of it, though I do have more baby projects to show you.  In the meantime, I finally got round to making a new ironing board cover.  Do you want to see the old one?  It's quite gross and covered in sticky bits of Bondaweb.

I don't know if you remember, but I was planning on using some lovely Amy Butler fabric I'd got from Prints to Polka Dots?  Well it turned out I'd bought 1/2 metre cuts, so I had to find something that worked with them.

I used this fabulous tutorial by Randi at i have to say.

Now, when I took my old cover off, I realised that the pad was part of the cover...  I didn't have my computer on (I'd printed the tutorial out) so I didn't know how to make a new one.  Turns out it's pretty easy, must give that a go!  At the minute, the new cover is just on over the old one!

Looks fabulous, Wendy. Mine is so bad, I really must make a new one, but I couldn't possibly show a photo... LOL!!!

I always just put the new cover on top of the old cover - I have so many on there now that my board is now ... OVERpadded, lol! Your new cover is gorgeous - isn't it awful how grungy our boards get??! And there's just no washing the covers - they never come out clean! I need a new one too - mine is looking awful!

Nope, not sick of nephew talk - can't wait to see a picture of Auntie Wendy with Master Jacob - I bet you can't WAIT to hold him!

Hope you had a lovely weekend with your new nephew, can't wait to see the photos.

Your ironing board puts mine to shame I will definitely have to check out that tutorial, and get cracking on a cover for my sadly neglected board :)

It looks so great! My ironing board also need a little refashion... or just would need... ironing is not my favourite housework, so I try to keep myself away from the board :)

Wow - that's the snazziest ironing board cover I've ever seen! It almost makes me want to do some ironing - and I never iron! Well, only for sewing purposes, never clothes!
