I have been collecting bunny fabrics for a few years now. I haven't actually bought many this year as I already had so many (a noteable exception being Critter - linked to a random UK shop as I can't remember where I bought it!). I have over 100 FQs or scraps with bunnies on:
Some I've bought, some were bought for me by Mr CA one Christmas and some were gifts from friends and quilt buddies. I sorted them into rainbow order.
Then at October's EMMQG meeting I began sewing. I had to figure out the dimensions I wanted as I'm not following a pattern. I started with 2" and 3" centre squares, I just couldn't make it work with one size only, but as I only have a vague plan, I'm sure it'll be fine!
I stitched some of the greens and all of the purples into polaroid blocks. They will be set wonkily into background squares. I bought some navy spot fabric for this project, but now I'm wondering about Kona solids in a variety of colours... I'm sure it'll be a while before I've finished them so plenty of time to think about it!
I can't see the purple ones in this picture, I hope I didn't leave them at the guild meeting! I only have about 5 as it's hard enough to get purple fabric, let alone purple fabric featuring bunnies!

Tula Tuesday
Hopefully I'm going to link up to something new to me this week, Tula Tuesday over at Diary of a Madfabriholic. If I remember!
With my rainbow blocks for June done, I needed a new leader and ender project. I hate wasting all that thread when I don't have one on the go. Being slightly overambitious at times, I thought the Tula Pink City Sampler quilt would be a good leader and ender project!
I'm not a fan of Tula's fabrics (though I love her patterns), so I'm using fabrics from the scrap bin. I'm going to try to keep roughly to the colours she's used as I want an overall quilt like the one in her book. I don't want to spend hours pondering over fabric choices, so the plan is I make a block and move on. Later on, if I don't like it, I'll remake it. Above is block one.
This is block 2. Not liking the pink much already... but I'll wait and see. This could be a very long-term project, or, at some point, it will take over and I'll use something else as a leader and ender!

Cathedral Window
Hello ladies! Another inspired blog post title today. I don't know if any of you have been following along with the Cathedral Windows QAL hosted by My Crafty Crap? I've been looking at the tutorials and pinning them for future use. I mentioned this to Bree who bullied me into trying one! When I saw Week 4 - Tutorial by Mommy's Nap Time - I had an "aha!" moment. I finally understood how the windows were made and thought it would be a good place to start. So I did.
Now, my block will not be winning any awards. I used white thread, but it's just a practice block, I don't intend to do anything with it. I chose 4 solids as I thought it'd be easier than trying to select patterned fabrics that would work.
The top photo shows the block after I sewed the pieces together, and the photo above is after I'd made my "windows". I love it! OK, it's not the best made block in the world, but I understand Cathedral Windows now!
This photo shows the folds better, but it perhaps could have done without the bunting behind!!
And here's a close up. Clearly, if I did this block again I'd use a thread that matched, but it was only a practice. I finished this up at about 5 on Sunday, so I didn't have time to make any more, but now I want to try some of the other blocks, I hope I have time!
